About Us

Our story
Promoting the sector of sport education and sport sciences at the European level

The European Network of Sport Education (ENSE, formally known as ENSSEE) is an international non-profit organisation and active in the field of sport education in Europe since 1989. The organisation focuses on projects aimed at developing and promoting the sector of sport and sport sciences at the European level, especially as they relate to physical education, coaching, management as well as health and physical activity.

As the first organisation of its kind, ENSE enjoys a strong reputation across the continent and is a leader in regards sport education and policy.

ENSE's role in the complex organisational environment of Sport is defined through four factors: the network’s expertise in the subject of sport education, the network’s membership diversity, its relationships to several other European organisations — including the European Council's Working Group on Human Resources Development in Sport — and a an executive team combining academic and professional expertise.

Projects

What we do
SPEACH

Current Project – The main goal of the Sport Physical Education And Coaching in Health (SPEACH) Project is to increase awareness and behavioural change in sport professionals and European citizens towards an active and healthy lifestyle. Looking for innovative ways to address these issues, the consortium consists of ten partner organizations and actors from seven EU countries.

SPEED

Current Project – This 3-year project aims at filling the gap with a common Sport Science higher education system in Albania, Kosovo and Serbia, introducing vocationally oriented Masters and Lifelong Learning Programmes based on a learning outcomes and competencies approach, targeting new and old graduates, fostering flexible, practical learning pathways and partnership between universities and stakeholders.

English in Sport

Current Project – English is the most common language in the sports world, during technical meetings, competitions, refereeing or press conferences. English in Sport is a multimedia e-learning tool that has a strict link to sport life, practices and competition and it looks like a metro map.

Since its inception, ENSE's activities have taken place throughout Europe, involving over 80 member and partner organisations in more than 30 countries
